This Greek manufacturer might be best known for their cheese alternatives, but Violife is gradually branching out into other types of dairy copycats. Last year they launched a dairy-free chocolate spread, and this year, Violife Dips are hitting store shelves. They’re emerging in three very popular flavors: Ranch, French Onion, and Spinach & Artichoke.

To get the creamiest consistency, you’ll notice some favorite ingredients, like coconut oil and starch. But Violife isn’t afraid to try new things, like dried banana powder, to perfect their recipes. Despite the odd addition, the company promises a creamy, flavorful experience that will fulfill cravings. But you be the judge! French Onion

Ingredients: filtered water, coconut oil, food starch-modified (potato, tapioca), dried onions, citrus fibers, salt (sea salt), dried banana powder, dried garlic powder, lactic acid, flavor (vegan sources), olive extract, vitamin b12.

Nutrition (per 2 tablespoons): 60 calories, 5g fat, 3g carbs, 0g fiber, 0g sugars (includes 0g added sugars), 0g protein. Fortified to achieve the following RDA percentages: 30% vitamin B12.*

Ranch

Ingredients: filtered water, coconut oil, food starch-modified (potato, tapioca), citrus fibers, salt (sea salt), glucono delta-lactone, lactic acid, dried banana powder, rice flour, sugar, garlic, yeast extract, herbs, flavor (vegan sources), olive extract, beta carotene (color), vitamin b12.

More Allergen Notes

Violife shared the following information with us on their allergen protocols:

Regarding dairy ingredients, please note that we do share lines in some parts of the production process. However, we clean our equipment VERY meticulously, with multiple allergen swab testings to confirm absence of cross-contamination with dairy. Furthermore, production samples are sent to an accredited lab for allergen analysis. Our results are consistently negative for the presence of any dairy allergens.

Please note though that testing for absence of any dairy allergen is conducted as mentioned via multiple swab testing with a 0.4ppm* sensitivity after the weekend full cleaning. Once negative results are achieved our vegan production can commence Monday morning. We must stress that a negative result at 0.4ppm means that there is no dairy allergens present in concentration above that point.

*PPM = part per million, or less than 0.4 mg allergen in 1 Kg of product, or less than 0.01 mg in 20gr (1 slice) of product. 1mg = One thousandth of a gram.

As stated, the aforementioned allergens are not detectable by our testing; we guarantee that there are no allergens above our testing thresholds. We have never had an issue and we export globally.
